Job Description & Responsibilities
As the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of our organisation, reporting directly to the Group CFO. Primary responsibilities will include overseeing the Accounts department, ensuring the timely preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, and facilitating the annual audit process. Additionally, the successful candidate will be instrumental in managing our creditors and debtors portfolio and producing various financial reports as per the Company’s Finance Calendar. Responsibilities include:
Team Leadership and Management:
• Lead and manage the Accounts department, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
• Mentor and support Accounts Executives, ensuring their professional development and growth within the team
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare comprehensive monthly/quarterly management accounts, including accurate profit and loss forecasts
• Generate various financial reports such as profit and loss reports, VAT returns, cash flow reports, and bank reconciliations
• Conduct regular analysis of financial data to provide insights and support strategic decision-making
Audit and Compliance:
• Assist external auditors, Board Members, and Management during audit processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Maintain robust internal controls and document accounting processes to strengthen compliance and mitigate risks
Cash Management and Forecasting:
• Monitor cash balances and forecasts to ensure liquidity and financial stability
• Conduct weekly/monthly bank statement reconciliations in accordance with company policies and procedures
Budgeting and Planning:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop annual budgets and contribute to the formulation of the yearly business plan
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support budgetary decision-making and strategic planning initiatives
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or ACCA.
Experience required
Applicants must have proven experience in a similar finance management role.
In addition, the ideal candidate must:
• Have strong proficiency in financial management software and MS Office suite
• Have excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrate leadership abilities with a proactive and positive approach
• Be able to adapt to change and drive process improvements
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
