Course overview:
Investing, whether on behalf of an individual or a corporation, requires a good understanding of financial goals, risk tolerance and asset management.
This course will introduce the fundamental differences between personal and corporate investing, with a focus on the role that Accountants play in shaping and navigating effective investment strategies across various asset classes.
Agenda:
- Understand and compare the investment objectives of individuals vs. Companies
- Learn about the different asset classes: stocks, bonds, real estate, derivatives,
cryptocurrencies and commodities - Personal investing: identifying the different goals such as wealth-building and retirement
- Corporate investing: explore how Accountants can assist Companies in managing
investments to optimizing cash flow management and drive capital growth

Meet Your Instructor
Gilbert Abela is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Management from the University of Malta. Before joining Curmi & Partners as an equity analyst, Gilbert worked as a portfolio analyst with Cevian Capital Partners, the largest activist investor in Europe. Gilbert also worked as a junior portfolio manager at FCS Asset Management and an investment analyst at Jemond Mizzi Financial Advisors.
