Job Description & Responsibilities
We are currently seeking to recruit an Accountant to join our Accounting team and take care of the accounting requirements of a portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with the review of the book-keeping of client entities and preparation of financial statements
• Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and assistance with the refund process
• Acting as relationship person with the clients
• Keeping abreast of the accounting and regulatory developments taking place locally
• Drafting accounting policies and procedures where necessary
• Coordinating with and liaising with authorities, auditors and other third parties in Malta
• Determining and timely managing matters of top priority and handling such matters accordingly
• Carrying out any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Directors
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in a possession of a recognized degree in Accountancy.
Experience required
Applicants must gave a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
The preferred candidates for this position should preferably:
• Demonstrate an awareness of and adherence to procedural and regulatory requirements, ensuring best practice is followed and demonstrate a professional approach to all aspects of the role
• Be able to use judgement and initiative in applying standard work practices and solving day to day problems
• Be fluent in English and ideally have an understanding of other languages
• Be expected to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively within both the Malta team and the wider ZEDRA business
