Job Description & Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager for the Country, the selected candidate will manage a medium-sized team and will be responsible for:
• Ensuring compliance with the Group´s financial policies and procedures as well as with local regulation in relation to financial, accounting, and fiscal matters
• Preparing timely and adequate financial reporting of the entities within his/her scope for both the Group´s and local statutory purposes, ensuring that the appropriate financial controls are taking place effectively
• Coordinating the external audit process of the entities within his/her scope for both Group´s and local statutory purposes
• Preparing and submitting the financial budgets/forecasts of the entities within his/her scope, interacting with different stakeholders and in alignment with the General Manager
• Preparing analysis, and reporting of the financial business performance of the entities within his/her scope, interacting with different stakeholders and proposing corrective actions for any business-related issues/challenges identified affecting the financial performance
• Handling cash/liquidity management at the entity level following Global/Regional guidelines, including the recurrent preparation of cash forecasts
• Ensuring that the trade and non-trade liabilities of the entities within his/her scope are settled on a timely basis
• Liaising with the Global Shared Services Centre to ensure that the level of the services rendered to the entities within his/her scope allows for the candidate to complete the activities that he/she is accountable for
• Timely filing and settlement of the applicable tax and VAT returns
• Coordinating the relationship with external accounting auditors, tax advisors, or tax auditors, following the guidelines set at Global / Regional levels
• Liaising with the Regional Finance Head
• Preparing sales reports and other matters
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. Candidates who are in the final stages of attaining an Accounting qualification with appropriate working experience will also be considered.
Experience required
Applicants must have proven experience of a minimum of 2-3 years in a similar position, preferably in companies within the Retail sector.
In addition, the ideal candidate must:
• Be knowledgeable in IFRS / local GAAP
• Have experience in the use of Financial Reporting tools, preferably in SAP Central Finance / SAP Group Reporting or SAP BPC
• Have advanced level in Excel / PowerPoint
• Have previous experience in financial modelling, including cash flow related (will be considered an asset)
• Have strong analytical skills, assertiveness, resilience, and positive attitude
• Be used to working in the context of tight deadlines
• Be a good communicator / team-worker
