Job Description & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for vessel accounting and month-end reporting. Responsibilities include:
• Reviewing the weekly payment run
• Reviewing bank reconciliations
• Reviewing sales invoices
• Reviewing payroll journals and upload files
• Ensuring that all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
• Reviewing and approving month-end inventory and processing in accounting system
• Preparing depreciation, accruals, and prepayments journals
• Preparing monthly vessel accounting
• Communicating with vessel Hotel Managers and Assistant Hotel Managers
• Obtaining a sound understanding of different VAT jurisdictions
• Liaising with auditors during year end audit
• Working with peers at Head office, Malta office and Vessel team
• Working on other reporting as required
• Managing a team
Qualifications required
Applicants must be fully qualified Accountants.
Experience required
Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years previous experience in a similar post. On the job training will be provided.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be able to work well with colleagues, manage the team and liaise with the vessel team
• Be able to prioritize workload and delegate tasks
• Be able to work well under pressure and within set time frames
• Be attentive to detail and possess problem-solving skills
• Have knowledge of MS Office software. Knowledge of NetSuite will be considered an asset
• Be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be willing to travel once or twice annually
