Job Description & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
• Variance Analysis: Conduct thorough variance analysis of financial data, comparing actual results to budgeted or forecasted figures, and provide detailed explanations for variances to management. Identify fixed and variable costs to be used for group reporting. This includes ocean vessels and river vessels (EU/Asia)
• Management Reporting: Prepare ad hoc cruise vessel reports as required by management in order to analyse costs between different categories
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare annual cruise vessel budgets and quarterly forecasts, working closely with various departments to gather necessary information
• Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve financial performance
• Data Analysis: Utilize advanced analytical techniques to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, and operations, to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives. Ensure a close relationship is kept with Accounting Managers in order to have a good understanding on actuals reported
• Compliance: Identify areas and assist with process of drafting policies and procedures. Handle approvals for various tasks in order to ensure controls are abided by
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This includes assisting management with software integrations into ERP
• Internal Audit: Carry out onboard audits to ensure controls are in place, visit warehouses and other offices and report findings to management
• ESG: Handling group requirements with regards to ESG matters
• Other Ad hoc tasks: Any other tasks as requested by management
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is preferred.
Experience required
Applicants must have at least 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on variance analysis and management reporting.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be proficient in financial analysis tools and software, including advanced Excel skills
• Have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Have strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Have effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Have experience with ERP systems (is a plus)
• Be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have knowledge of industry-specific financial practices and regulations
• Have experience in a multinational company or a similar fast-paced environment
• Have strong organizational and time management skills
