Job Description & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:
• Support the monthly and year-end close processes to ensure timely, and accurate reporting
• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting standards
• Manage depreciation, prepayments, and accruals in accordance with applicable accounting policies and standards
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconcile data between operational systems and the accounting system to ensure data integrity and accuracy
• Process payroll journals and oversee the end-to-end payroll accounting cycle
• Provide support during internal and external audit processes
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of VAT requirements across multiple jurisdictions
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows
• Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies and procedures
• Collaborate closely with procurement, corporate, and cross-functional teams to support smooth and effective business operations
• Supervise, train, and mentor team members to enhance performance, improve work quality, and reduce errors
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and supportive team environment
• Undertake ad hoc finance and accounting duties as required

Qualifications required

Applicants must be halfway through the ACCA qualification or have at least 5 years of proven relevant experience.

Experience required

Previous experience within the hospitality industry will be considered an asset.

The ideal candidate must:
• Have a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to perform effectively under pressure and meet established deadlines
• Be willing and available to travel on short vessel trips
• Be detail-oriented, analytical and with strong problem-solving skills
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication
