Job Description & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
• Review and support the preparation of accounting entries processed by the finance team
• Prepare and coordinate monthly and annual financial close processes
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register
• Prepare VAT reports, perform VAT reconciliations, and ensure timely submission of VAT returns
• Liaise with local and international VAT consultants
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and GAPSME standards
• Coordinate with external auditors during interim and year-end audits, ensuring all audit requirements and deadlines are met
• Maintain CAPEX reporting for vessels and aircraft under construction
• Manage and regularly update the contract database
• Review tax returns prepared by external tax consultants
• Liaise with directors and support the handling of compliance matters
• Prepare ad hoc financial and management reports as required
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a University degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification.
Experience required
Applicants must have 2+ years of work experience in accounting.
The ideal candidate must:
• Have strong working knowledge of IFRS, Malta Tax and European VAT
• Be fluent in English, both spoken and written
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Microsoft Excel
• Thrive in a fast-paced working environment and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Be results-oriented, responsible, highly meticulous, and detail-oriented
• Be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
