The Accounting Manager will be primarily responsible for the preparation of month-end and yearly financial results. Training and leading the team will be a key aspect of this role and ensuring that an open communication with all colleagues locally and oversees is always kept. In this position, you need to prioritize what is important, have a hands-on, flexible and independent work mentality and be able to deal with managing your workload and meeting deadlines.
A helicopter view is required, since you are responsible for overseeing a team of professionals and meeting the group’s requirements. You need to be proactive, know what you are capable of, possess good communication skills and not afraid of answering questions.
Responsibilities include:
• Keeping a very close relationship with the Head of Vessel Accounting, providing updates and offering solutions to day-to-day matters
• Overseeing a team of professionals and handling various requests in a timely manner
• Reporting to colleagues both locally and oversees on various matters
• Overseeing the audit process and handling meetings with auditors
• Ensuring various deadlines (internal reporting, audit, VAT and others) are met by driving the team forward
• Preparing monthly cash flow forecasts
• Reviewing statutory Financial Statements in line with IFRS and ensuring compliance to accounting rules
• Reviewing month end results prepared by the team and keeping open communications with Head Office
• Recruiting team members and handling / attending periodic performance appraisals
Qualifications required
Applicants must be fully qualified Accountants.
Experience required
Experience in the hotel industry will be preferable but is not a must. Experience in accounting matters relating to different jurisdictions will be considered an asset.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be someone with the energy to take on this challenging role within a growing team
• Have the personality to take on new challenges and improve internal systems and processes
• Be fluent in English (both orally and in writing)
• Have a working knowledge of IFRS and international VAT
• Excel in fast paced working environment and have a proficient level of interpersonal and communication skills
• Be available to travel at least 2 times per year
• Have personal credibility, integrity and high moral standards
• Be result oriented, responsible, highly meticulous and detail-oriented
• Be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
