Salvo Grima Group is a dynamic group of companies specialising in distribution of fast-moving consumer goods, duty-free travel retail and ship supply. Our Group was established in 1860, operating in nine countries in Europe and Africa and are now employing approximately 500 people.
We are now seeking a highly motivated and qualified Finance Manager to join our Malta-based finance team. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with the General Manager/s of specific operations, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our dynamic business environment.
This position is ideal for an experienced Accountant and proven leader who is eager to advance their career within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization. The role offers the chance to make a significant impact while developing professionally in an international setting.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Managing and mentoring a team of Accounts Officers and Junior Accountants
• Supervising the maintenance of subsidiary ledgers and other financial records of one or more business units
• Assisting in the process of preparing management accounts and in year-end processes
• Supporting the General Manager of assigned business units and team members where required
• Evaluating and analysing business performance, proposals, plans and opportunities
• Preparing VAT returns and financial data required for official bodies and Government departments
• Liaising with the group’s auditors and other business units service providers
• Preparing up-to-date bank balances, debtor and creditor positions, and other financial data
• Contributing to the ongoing development and strengthening of internal controls
• Reporting accurately and clearly on activities undertaken

Qualifications required
The chosen candidate must have have acquired a Masters in Accountancy, ACCA or any other comparable recognised Accounting qualification at MQF Level 7 or higher.
Experience required
Applicants must have proven and relevant experience in a similar industry.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be confident, assertive with clear communication and reporting skills, able to interpret and explain financial data
• Be collaborative and supportive, able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Be detail-oriented, accurate and motivated
• Have experience with Business Central or a comparable Enterprise Resource Planning system (would be an asset)
• Be able to travel where necessary
