Job Description & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report directly to the Department Manager and will have the opportunity to form part of a supportive team of professionals. The incumbent will perform general accounting functions, maintain accounting records and perform other related duties in the Finance department as per company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
• Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding emails, processing mail and filing
• Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
• Carrying out bookkeeping duties and other accounting duties
• Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
• Preparing payments to suppliers and chasing debtors
• Reconciling suppliers, debtors and bank and allocating payments
• Maintaining the Company accounting records up to trial balance stage
• Carrying out general administrative work, including filing, replying to queries of colleagues, suppliers and clients
• Reporting to auditors and management when necessary
• Replying to auditor and management queries
• Providing weekly cash flow reports
• Providing accounting and clerical support to vendors, clients and colleagues
• Recharging between companies
• Engaging in any other task commensurate with the role
Qualifications required
Applicants must have basic knowledge of accounts with a minimum A-level in Accounting.
Experience required
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accounting environment.
In addition, applicants must:
• Have knowledge of Shireburn. Room master knowledge will be considered an asset
• Have basic knowledge of computer skills including Excel
• Work efficiently without surveillance
• Be an accurate and reliable person
• Be proactive with high motivation and a positive attitude
• Possess strong communication skills in both Maltese and English
