Job Description & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
• Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records for multiple entities within the Group
• Perform monthly reconciliations including bank, supplier, customer, and intercompany accounts
• Prepare management accounts and perform variance analysis against budgets and prior periods
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met
• Maintain and update fixed asset registers, ensuring correct depreciation recording
• Prepare VAT returns and other statutory filings in a timely and compliant manner
• Assist with Micro Invest and EU-funded project applications and follow-ups
• Contribute to budget and forecast preparation, providing relevant data and analysis
• Monitor cash flow movements and support treasury-related activities
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company financial policies
• Collaborate with auditors and provide required documentation during audits
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems
• Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed
• Provide ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required
Qualifications required
Applicants must be currently in the process of obtaining an ACCA qualification or equivalent.
Experience required
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance or accounting within a local Maltese company.
The ideal candidate must:
• Have strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of local financial regulations
• Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Have good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Be proficient in SAGE and Microsoft Excel
