Job Description & Responsibilities
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to work within a high-performance finance team during a period of transformation. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for various tasks with a view to organize and control multiple operations in the Group Finance Department which oversees finance operations in multiple jurisdictions of operations.
Job Functions:
• To act as custodian of financial processes and procedures ensuring that they are efficient and effective
• To identify, develop and maintain efficient and effective systems that provide timely and accurate cost reporting in accordance with Group policy and accounting standards
Key responsibilities:
• Manage the accounts payable process to ensure supplier payments are made within terms and the needs of the business
• Manage the accounts receivable process and team to ensure customer payments are made within terms or issues escalated in a timely manner
• Manage the payroll process and timely submission of returns to fiscal authorities
• Prepare cash flows in accordance with Group timetable
• Understand variances from plan and identify the actions needed to manage cash flow in line with the needs of the business
• Ensure all regulatory and statutory returns are completed accurately and on time
• Ensure the inter-company process is managed with invoicing completed accurately and on time in line with Group policy with mismatches resolved within Group time limits
• Act as main liaison with local banks in each jurisdiction of operation. Prepare bank reconciliations and review them with the appropriate people and the Finance Director
• Act as co-pilot for operational managers, preparing KPI dashboard and analysis for review
• Work with other departments across the Company to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Prepare budget and forecast information in line with the company timetable understand equipment and labor resource requirements, cost base and financial variances to plan
• Prepare new job costs for approval in line with the governance process
• Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements and liaise with auditors
• Provide ad-hoc project support to the Finance Director
• Undertake cost center spend reviews with Departmental Managers and the appropriate people leaders to review headcount needs, labor spend and overhead spending
• Report to the Finance Director any analysis of budgets, forecasts, and variances thereto
• Contribute to the smooth running of the Finance department and to its role as custodian
• Support the behavior of working as One PLS, sharing best practice and collaborate with colleagues outside of own sphere of business
• Forecast short and long-term profit/loss and capital requirements
• Actively manage cash flow within the business
• Measure the company’s performance against financial plans

Qualifications required
Applicants must be qualified Accountants (Masters in Accountancy, ACCA or equivalent).
Experience required
Applicants must have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience in payroll, accounts payable and tax compliance is required.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be able to organize large amounts of information into a coherent and meaningful format while working on multiple prospects simultaneously
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in other Microsoft Office products is a plus
• Have working knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
