Job Description & Responsibilities
As part of the expansion of our administrative team, we are looking for an Accounting Officer to join the Finance & Administration department. The selected candidate will contribute to the proper management of accounting and administrative processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
• Posting and verification of accounts payable and receivable invoices
• Preparing bank reconciliations and general ledger entries
• Providing support in monthly and yearly closing activities (accruals, deferrals, adjusting entries)
• Handling routine tax compliance (VAT, F24 filings, withholding taxes)
• Fixed assets management and depreciation
• Liaising with suppliers, customers, and external consultants
• Document archiving and support during internal and external audits
Qualifications required
Applicants must have a high school diploma in Accounting and/or a degree in Economics or related fields.
Experience required
Applicants must have at least 2–3 years of experience in a similar role as well as prior accounting experience in Malta.
In addition, the ideal candidate must:
• Have solid knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations
• Be fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Italian is a plus
• Be proficient in Excel and main ERP/accounting software
• Be accurate, reliable, and have a strong team-oriented attitude
