Job Description & Responsibilities
This large, rapidly diversifying, group of companies is seeking to expand its finance department with the recruitment of an Accounts Officer.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, have an A' level in Accounting and ideally be pursuing or intend to pursue the ACCA qualification. Eagerness to learn, commitment, loyalty, and integrity are the qualities we are after. Through this vacancy we are after someone who will have the opportunity to grow and expand his potential within the group.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
• Perform day-to-day accounting duties, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
• Support the preparation of tax and regulatory submissions in line with local requirements (MFSA, FIAU, etc)
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial data
• Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Identify opportunities for improvements within financial processes
Qualifications required
The ideal candidate should have an A' level in Accounting and be in the initial stages of pursuing the ACCA qualification. The company will also consider enrolling a motivated candidate who has not yet started, but intends to start the ACCA qualification. The company will support him/her in the attainment of such qualification. This both financially and also through the granting of study leave.
Experience required
Applicants must have 1–2 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
