Job Description & Responsibilities
The Accountant is required to work closely with the Finance Director and the rest of the team in relation to the internal financial accounting functions.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Maintaining client accounting records up to trial balance stage
• Issuing invoices for entities within the organization
• Assisting with month end related tasks, such as reconciliations and uploading of journals
• Reviewing and managing accounts receivable
• Processing and managing accounts payable
• Inputting bank entries
• Setting up payments on the bank portals
• Assisting with the electronic filing of all accounting documents
• Providing general finance and administration support to the team
• Carrying out other ongoing ad-hoc projects and tasks as they arise
Training in relation to trusts and non-Malta jurisdictions will be given if necessary.
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of an accounting professional qualification (accounting diploma or similar qualification will also be considered)
Experience required
Applicants must have a minimum of three years relevant work experience.
The ideal candidate must:
• Have a versatile and flexible attitude with the ability to communicate well with all levels of staff and clients
• Be well organised with an exceptional attention to detail
• Have strong IT skills
• Have excellent command of English both written and spoken
Expected Skills/Knowledge:
• Be able to draft a set of financial statements including Statement of Financial Position, Income Statement and Cashflow from bank accounts and invoices etc
• Be able to reconcile bank accounts
• Have knowledge of accruals and prepayment scheduling
• Be able to prepare Management Accounts
• Be capable of liaising with auditors
Computer Systems: Employer uses Microsoft, Quantios 5Series, and Quickbooks. Training will be given where required.
