Job Description & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and oversee financial data integrity
• Preparation and submission of monthly VAT recap statements and VAT returns
• Preparation and submission of yearly tax returns
• Preparation and submission of FS7 and FS3 forms
• Preparation of monthly cashflow (CF) reports to directors
• Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
• Monitoring accounts receivable and payable, including follow-up on outstanding balances
• Preparation and/or review of payments to creditors
• Completion of surveys and statistical returns related to financial reporting
• Correspond with authorities, including MBR and other regulatory bodies and handling related updates
• Support and provide advice on tax matters, including tax credits and available government schemes
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and advisors
• Assist with financial planning, budgeting and operational decision-making

Qualifications required
Applicants must be qualified or partly qualified accountants (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
Experience required
Applicants must have a minimum 3–5 years’ relevant experience (preferably in Malta).
The ideal candidate must:
• Have experience with bookkeeping systems and financial reporting
• Be able to work independently and take initiative in a growing business environment
• Have strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Have strong understanding of Maltese VAT, tax compliance and statutory obligations
