Job Description & Responsibilities

As a Head of Finance, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization by managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role ensures accurate financial records, optimizes financial processes, and provides strategic insights to support decision-making.

What you'll be doing:
• Work closely with the CEO to provide financial guidance and support while also assisting the Senior Management Team and the Board of Administrators as needed
• Collaborate with the senior management and heads of department to efficiently develop proposal budgets, provide access to project finance information, and manage contract/grant compliance and reporting
• Conduct research on revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyse internal operations, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Develop and advise on business development and strategic planning, including the
development and implementation of the organisation’s business plan
• Manage liquidity, finance, accounting and compliance functions with the necessary processes and internal controls to safeguard the corporate assets
• Identify and implement strategies to reduce costs and increase efficiency across the entire organization
• Ensure that the reconciliation processes of all departments of the organisation are carried out and documented, as necessary
• Monitor the overall performance of the Finance Department
• Coordinate the preparation of management accounts, financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and information reports
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and reports on variances
• Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the Organization
• Strategically evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programmes/services
• Optimize the relationships with banks and other investors and/or financing sources and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance the Foundation’s cash position
• Develop new business opportunities whilst strengthening existing revenue streams
• Ensure that the organisation is covered with adequate insurance packages
• Ensure that tax and legal requirements are met and that internal controls are put in place together with governance and standards
• Monitor KPIs and establish corrective measures as required
• Ensure that approved projects support the right business goals, and each project has a qualified project professional leading it
• Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus and service and encourages individual integrity

Qualifications required

Applicants must be Warranted Accountants (in possession of the ACCA qualification or equivalent).

Experience required

Applicants must have 3+ years experience in a leadership role within the finance sector.

The ideal candidate must:
• Be meticulous and collaborative mentor with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Have high proficiency in English language (C1 proficiency)
• Have excellent communication and negotiating skills
