Job Description & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Handling book-keeping and maintenance of accounting records
• Ensuring that proper financial records are kept and updated daily
• Preparing monthly suppliers/creditors reconciliations and bank reconciliations
• Preparing management accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis
• Assisting in invoicing and cash collection
• Posting transactions in the portfolio management software
• Assisting in the preparation of VAT and Tax returns
• Assisting in the preparation of the Company’s budget and financial forecasts
• Executing any other tasks related to the duties of the position and as requested by the Senior Management or Supervisors of the Company
Qualifications required
Applicants must be either partly qualified or be in the process of attaining a recognized qualification in Accounting.
Experience required
Applicants must have at least 2 years` experience in a similar position.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be reliable and have a high level of integrity and work ethic
• Be knowledgeable in using accounting software and databases (use of Xero will be considered an advantage)
• Be computer literate (Microsoft Office Packages) and proficient in Excel
• Have knowledge of Accounting principles and procedures and also basic VAT and Tax laws
• Be able to take initiative and work around tight deadlines
