Job Description & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Preparing group cashflows to monitor daily / weekly / monthly cashflow requirements
• Monitoring cash flow forecasts to ensure that adequate cash reserves are maintained to meet company obligations
• Understanding the financing position of the Group for project implementation and advise counterpart accordingly
• Managing foreign currency exposure and foreign currency payments
• Analysing various scenarios and risks and reporting to senior management
• Taking care of daily cash management and debt facilities management
• Monitoring foreign exchange risk management and interest rate risk management and development of risk mitigation strategies to ensure that the company will be able to meet future payment obligations and reporting to senior management
• Managing the Group's bank relationships
• Preparing and ensuring group interest costs are in line with budgets and find opportunities to minimise the cost
• Ensuring timely settlement of intercompany balances (trade and non-trade)
• Contributing on group transfer pricing policies and any implications from a treasury point of view
• Monitoring and managing the Group’s liquidity position and financial covenants
• Contributing to the feasibility studies/group expansion projects to ensure liquidity in relation to availability, banking obligations, funding and guarantees
• Ensuring that Hudson Malta Plc bond obligations are meet with
• Coordinating with Supply Chain / Accounts Payable on cashflow management for payments of suppliers
• Liaising with Accounts Receivable for timely settlement of debtors
• Reviewing and approving new client onboarding for wholesale businesses under Malta/BDI
• Reviewing and approving New Brands onboarding/existing contract renegotiations for better credit terms
• Making strategic decisions regarding how much cash should be held in reserve to meet unexpected expenses or fluctuations in income
• Developing and implementing treasury policies and procedures to ensure that all financial activities are conducted per company standards
• Preparing reports for management and board
• Liaising with senior management across the organisation
• Supporting the month-end process where necessary
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a degree in accounting, banking or a related subject.
Experience required
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior treasury function.
The ideal candidate must:
• Have exposure to banking operations and processes
• Have sound understanding of accounting principles
• Have strong understanding of financial markets, financial instruments, and debt instruments
• Have knowledge of banking relationships and covenants
• Have strong negotiation skills
• Be able to work autonomously and be part of the broader team
• Be able to handle sensitive information
• Be able to take informed decisions in the best interest of the organisation
• Have excellent time management and organisational ability
• Demonstrate high level of attention to detail
• Have strong leadership and relationship management skills, with an ability to build good relationships with stakeholders
• Be a team player with the ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple parties
• Be proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
