Job Description & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Ensuring timely and accurate accounting
• Posting journal entries
• Processing supplier payments
• Performing reconciliations including bank, stock, payroll and billing
• Performing month-end closure procedures
• Preparing management accounts
• Preparing quarterly VAT computations and submission of VAT returns
• Assisting in annual financial audits and liaising with external auditors
• Liaising with banks
• Creating and updating finance procedures
• Ensuring adherence to existing internal controls
• Identifying areas of improvement in financial processes
• Assisting with the submission of monthly information requested by the CFO
• Assisting the CFO in the budgeting and forecasting processes
• Carrying out other duties as required by the CFO
Qualifications required
Applicants must be fully qualified Accountants.
Experience required
Applicants must have 3/5 years’ experience in a similar role.
The ideal candidate must:
• Have strong proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel
• Have strong planning and organisation skills
• Have interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
• Have a positive and can-do attitude
• Be able to lead and coach junior team members
• Have a high level of commitment to quality work product and organisational ethics, integrity and compliance
• Be comfortable navigating through grey areas without clear solutions
• Demonstrate superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the “big picture”
• Be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Be a self-starter with good time management skills
• Have experience with Shireburn Financial Manager (will be considered an asset)
