Job Description & Responsibilities
The Accounting Advisory Manager will form part of the Fenlex’s Accounting Advisory Services team and will be responsible for managing and leading a team of professionals to deliver high-quality accounting advisory services to clients. This role involves providing expert guidance on complex accounting issues, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, while also overseeing project delivery, client relationships, and business development activities.
Responsibilities include:
• Lead and manage engagements related to technical accounting matters, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
• Provide expert guidance and interpretation of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAPSME) and regulatory requirements to clients
• Conduct research and analysis on complex accounting issues and emerging accounting pronouncements
• Assist clients in the preparation and review of financial statements, including technical accounting memos and position papers
• Manage and oversee multiple accounting advisory engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery
• Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, and allocate resources effectively
• Monitor project progress, identify, and resolve issues, and provide regular updates to clients and senior management
• Understand clients’ business needs and challenges and provide tailored solutions and recommendations
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and expand services offered to clients
• Maintain a deep understanding of the clients’ industries and stay informed about industry trends and developments
• Contribute to the development of the Accounting Advisory Services strategy, including identifying target markets and service offerings
• Manage a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback
• Identify training needs and facilitate training programs to enhance the team’s technical expertise
• Collaborate with other managers and directors to optimize resource allocation and staffing for engagements
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a University degree in accountancy or ACCA qualification.
Experience required
Applicants must:
• Have extensive knowledge of accounting principles, standards (e.g., IFRS, GAPSME), and regulatory requirements
• Have strong experience in providing accounting advisory services or working in technical accounting roles
• Have Audit experience (will be considered an asset)
• Have excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
• Have strong client relationship management skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service
• Have a proven business development acumen, including experience in generating new business opportunities
• Have excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on coaching and developing team members
• Have exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Be proficient in accounting software, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
