Job Description & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Managing the day-to-day financial operations of the group of companies, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
• Ensuring that financial statements are prepared accurately and in accordance with accounting principles and legal requirements
• Managing cash flow, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting
• Monitoring and analyzing financial performance against budgets and provide recommendations for improvement
• Developing and maintaining financial models and projections to support business decision-making
• Managing and overseeing the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
• Ensuring compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
• Preparing financial presentations and reports for senior management and the board of directors
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
Experience required
Applicants must:
• Have 5+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position
• Have experience in the food and beverage industry (will be considered an asset)
• Have experience with Xero software (will be considered as an asset)
• Have strong knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
• Be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
