Job Description & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Cluster Director of Finance, the Finance Manager will be responsible for driving financial performance and ensuring all financial activities are conducted within established policies, regulations, and contractual frameworks. This role supports the development of a high-performing finance team, enabling them to thrive; and ensures robust control and compliance across the property.
Key responsibilities include:
• Maximize profitability and performance of the hotel by identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement
• Lead financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and other financial bench marking activities
• Partner with the general manager and hotel management team to drive strategic initiatives and improvements
• Oversee capital expenditure projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to financial projections
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, payroll processing, and balance sheet reconciliation
• Manage the hotel finance team, providing training, guidance, and professional development opportunities
• Conduct monthly performance review meetings and communicate financial insights to all stakeholders, including ownership and regional teams
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local regulations, and management agreements
• Lead internal and external audit processes, proactively addressing any deficiencies
• Manage user access to financial systems, ensuring appropriate data security and access controls
Qualifications required
As a minimum requirement, applicants must be partly qualified Accountants. A university degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Experience required
Applicants must preferably have 3-5 years of relevant and progressive experience in Accounting or Finance.
In addition, the ideal candidate must:
• Have experience in managing and developing finance teams
• Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Be proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook and be able to quickly learn new systems
• Have strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and external stakeholders
• Comply with local statutory reporting requirements and corporate accounting standards
• Be fluent in English
