Job Description & Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Assistant will be responsible for a dual role that will support both the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within the Hotel.
This role supports a robust control and compliance environment and includes the following duties and responsibilities which need to comply with company policies and accounting standards.
Accounts Payable:
• Prepare payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Process invoices complete with approvals, general ledger coding & supporting documentation
• Prepare supplier statement reconciliations to hotel accounting records together with follow-ups
Accounts Receivable:
• Assist in the timely checking and processing of debtors invoicing together with required supporting documentation
• Post and allocate all payments received accurately and on a timely basis
• Assist in checking the travel agent commission’s reports to ensure accuracy of payments
• Respond to queries from guests, travel agents and debtors on a timely basis
General:
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and support
• Assist the team with month-end processes and other tasks as needed
• Perform any additional tasks assigned to ensure that the hotel functions smoothly
Qualifications required
Applicants must as a minimum have an A' level standard of education.
Experience required
Applicants must as a minimum have 2 years' experience in an Accounts department. Previous experience in the Hospitality industry will be considered an asset.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be proficient in the use of computer applications especially MS Excel
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for customer interaction
• Have excellent written and spoken English
