Job Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to play a crucial role in our financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the Head of Financial Accounting in various tasks and initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
• Assist the Head of Financial Accounting in the day-to-day management of the finance operations and team oversight
• Assist the Head of Financial Accounting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Assist the Head of Financial Accounting in statutory compliance tasks, including VAT and NSO reporting
• Supervise and coordinate tasks related to the annual financial audit and the publication of the Group's annual report and financial statements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives regarding the internal reporting framework
• Support the implementation of new processes and technologies to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy
• Assist the CEO and Executive team in monitoring internal controls and ensuring compliance with internal policies
• Ensure business operations align with financial objectives and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with the Executive Team and Head of Financial Accounting on financial planning and budgeting processes
• Provide comprehensive support to the Head of Financial Accounting and the CEO on strategic financial and corporate matters
• Manage the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting framework, ensuring collaboration with various departments and the Company Secretary
• Oversee capital market-related reporting tasks in partnership with the Company Secretary and the CEO
• Support the CEO and Board in tasks related to investor relations and affairs
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a first Degree in Accounting and CPA warrant.
Experience required
Applicants must have 3 to 5 years post-qualification experience.
In addition, the ideal candidate must:
• Be proficient in MS Excel, accounting software, and financial modelling (experience with SunSystems accounting software is an asset)
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have strong presentation skills and ability to produce clear and attractive financial reports
• Be able to multi-task, meet strict deadlines, work within a team, and work on own initiative
• Have team management experience (will be considered an asset, but not necessary)
• Have exposure to Maltese capital markets (will be considered an asset, but not necessary)
