Job Description & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
• Prepare journal entries for the Group investments and Group technical accounting
• Perform monthly reconciliations related to the Finance department
• Help prepare the monthly financial reporting packs and the quarterly board packs
• Provide assistance with SUN (GL system) administration and with the booking of accounting entries in SUN
• Help prepare consolidated financial statements
• Liaise with the external and internal auditors
• Ensure that finance compliance, corporate governance and finance risk management procedures are followed
• Implement and monitor adequate internal controls
• Contribute to the documentation and review of finance policies and procedures
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of the ACCA / ACA certification.
Experience required
Applicants must preferably have at least three years of post-qualification experience.
The ideal candidate must:
• Have reinsurance knowledge and experience (is highly desirable) or have strong interest to join the industry and receive thorough training
• Have knowledge of SUN General Ledger system (would be advantageous)
• Have knowledge of Solvency II, IFRS and reporting requirements (will be considered an asset)
• Have strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills in English
• Have a good level of computer skills including MS Excel and Word, as well as other systems
