Job Description & Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to oversee the Audit team, ensure the efficient management of a large and diverse portfolio of clients, and support the Directors of Audit & Assurance with departmental needs.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage and oversee client audit engagements which include planning, executing, directing, and completing financial audits
• Perform Audits of financial statements of different entities operating in various industries
• Complete audit procedures to obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence in accordance with ISAs
• Ensure that all audits are carried out in a timely manner and according to deadlines, audit plan and budgets
• Plan Audit projects and ensure adequate resources are allocated to the projects
• Manage multiple projects, through the management of a team of audit staff
• Hold meetings with clients to discuss Audit status and findings and continuously build and maintain effective working relationships
• Monitor client service standards and take action to improve audit quality service
• Be actively engaged throughout the whole Audit processes, acting as a point of reference for the team and guiding accordingly
• Deliver accounting and auditing training in training programmes organised by the firm
• Adhere to the firm’s process for audit client acceptance and continuance
• Actively participate with the audit directors in the optimization of the client portfolio
• Manage a portfolio of clients, as well as manage Senior team members and their respective teams, and review working papers
• Determine fees and discuss them with the clients
• Identify overruns, taking the necessary action
• Keep abreast of accounting and auditing standards developments
• Provide technical knowledge, direction and training to audit staff
• Participate in the recruitment process for the department

Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a University degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification.
Experience required
Applicants must have at least 4 years working experience within an Audit team at a senior level.
The ideal candidate must:
• Possess a high level of technical expertise in Audit, as well as other areas within accounting, finance, & technology
• Be highly knowledgeable in IFRSs, GAPSME and ISAs
• Have excellent communication skills with a high level of fluency in English, written and verbal
• Have advanced working knowledge of MS Excel software
• Have experience using SAGE and XERO accounting software packages (would be an asset)
• Have good leadership skills and the ability to manage Audit teams
• Be able to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
• Be highly motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Have good problem solving and motivational abilities
• Be able to quickly adapt to changing business dynamics
• Demonstrate risk awareness and high integrity when dealing with confidential information
• Be a strong team player with exceptional organisational skills
