Job Description & Responsibilities

We are currently growing our Accountancy team and we are on the lookout for a motivated and self-driven candidate to join an existing team of professionals, whose main duties include the preparation of financial statements and providing assistance in the preparation of other financial reports.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Preparing, maintaining, updating and finalising accounting data
• Processing of non-technical and technical information in accounting systems
• Preparing and submitting personal tax returns
• Preparing and submitting VAT tax returns
• Preparing Management Accounts
• Preparing trial balances
• Preparing and maintaining cash books
• Preparing and maintaining accounting journals
• Dealing with the relevant regulatory and supervisory authorities

Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a University degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification.
Experience required
Working experience within an accounting team would be considered an asset.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office software programs. An advanced level in Microsoft Excel would be considered an asset
• Have strong communication skills in English and Maltese, both written and spoken
• Be able to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
• Be able to quickly adapt to changing business dynamics
• Be efficient coupled with a good eye for detail
• Demonstrate risk awareness and high integrity when dealing with confidential information
• Be self-motivated, proactive with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
• Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
