Job Description & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
• Provide bookkeeping services, liaise with clients and handle various requests in a timely manner
• Supervise and coach Junior Accountants, including review of their deliverables
• Plan deliverables of client portfolio, work on own initiative, prioritise own work and meet deadlines
• Report to management with portfolio updates and assist in monitoring team economics
• Prepare audit files for audit and liaise with client auditors
• Prepare the monthly payroll
• Prepare management accounts in accordance with relevant accounting frameworks
• Assist with presenting management accounts to clients
• Prepare and submit clients’ VAT returns and recap declarations
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor's degree or be in the process of obtaining an Accounting Qualification (University Masters in Accountancy/ACCA or similar Qualification).
Experience required
Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ of accounting experience in Malta in a similar role.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be familiar with payroll processes (will be considered an asset)
• Have exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English and interpersonal abilities
• Have strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Be capable to effectively manage multiple tasks while adhering to statutory deadlines
• Be proficient in standard office software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
• Be proficient in accounting software (XERO) (will be considered as an asset)
