Job Description & Responsibilities
As an Accountant, you will be managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance, strategic oversight, and continuous improvement. You will lead accounting processes, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, funding applications, and financial planning while maintaining high standards of accuracy, transparency, and collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities include:
• Prepare Accounting, Bookkeeping & Financial Control
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records
• Manage receivables and payables
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations monthly
• Reconcile Trial Balance and VAT accounts
• Manage staff expense claims
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Oversee insurance renewals
• Manage reporting & forecasting
• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and cash flow statements
• Post monthly journals (accruals, prepayments, deferred income, depreciation, WIP and salary)
• Reconcile revenue actuals against projections
• Handle recurring compliance & tax duties
• File VAT returns, provisional tax and annual returns
• Oversee and coordinate with 3rd party on payroll submissions
• Coordinate with 3rd party filing of annual income tax return, FS3, FS7
• Take part in yearly audits
• Handle strategic finance & budgeting
• Prepare annual budgets
• Review salary brackets, hourly rates, and price lists
• Lead the preparation of long-term projections and financial models
• Oversee funding opportunities and applications, including EU and local grants
• Conduct competitor and government budget analysis annually
• Liaise with local bank regarding bank financing
Qualifications required
Applicants must be in possession of a recognised Accounting Qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, or equivalent — or actively pursuing).
Experience required
Applicants must have 2+ years experience, ideally in a similar industry.
The ideal candidate must:
• Be proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Have strong understanding of accounting principles
• Have experience with VAT and tax returns
• Have excellent time management and organisational skills
• Have strong Microsoft Office skills
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Be fluent in English
